By the way...

... my fat ass isn't quite so fat anymore.

I'm wearing denim capris that are two sizes smaller than what I was wearing when I started the damn NutriSystem back in December.

BOOYAH!

And this with a small amount of creative license -- the more than occasional adult drinky-poo and a couple of real meals, albeit moderate ones, during the week.

I'm not nearly ready to film a Success Story commercial. Yet.

Yeah, I'm kinda proud of myself. Which is a new feeling. That I'm enjoying. So there.

I'm totally jealous! it's February in Pittsburgh and I'm afraid everything will keep spreading until Spring.

Congrats! You are my new hero.

WOOT! That's really terrific. I don't know that I could stick to 'the food.'

I think about making better food and lifestyle changes. That's as far as I've gotten. I am certain the cold weather makes me inately want to hold on to fat stores ... like blubber on a manatee.

Wooo, good for you! Two years ago, I lost about 30 pounds and I briefly really, really enjoyed actually feeling decent about what I saw in a mirror. Unfortunately, at the 30 pound mark I embarked on some huge stress induced eating (two hospitalizations and a major surgery for my little guy)as well as practically freebasing the magical Coca Cola and Reese Cup combo, and within a few months I put back on 35. Blah. I'm recently back to eating well, using the American Heart Association's "No-Fad Diet", I really like it. Congrats to you, keep it up!

1 oz of Gin has fewer calories than beer AND wine. Plus it has potassium, thus rendering bananas obsolete.

Just sayin.'

Aw, y'all. MWAH for all the sweet words of support. I can't believe I'm actually succeeding at this damn thing. But I am -- and it's really nice.

Clark! I still think that we need some sort of Slap Shot viewing party -- either in person or online somehow. What a riot...

And elizabeth and Miss Riss -- I do have the advantage of living in a sunny, tropic climate when spring (and bathing suit season) come shockingly early and last a while. It's self preservation.

Sherrie -- I could have written your post. Between stress eating due to Will's wacky health history and simply putting my own needs on the back burner to tend to his, I just let it all go. With Coke and Reeses being a significant contributor as well. You go girl with your taking care of yourself... we deserve it. And so do our boys.

Sprezzatura -- I have a very rocky history with gin. We have a mutual loathing. So I'll take my banana alongside the Grey Goose & Tonic. With lime.

Jane, your post was the kick in the fat fanny that I needed. I signed on the dotted line. I figure the money saved by not eating at Manchu Wok, The Great Steak and Potato and Shitty-Meals R' Us, I will be able to pay for NutriSystem. God give me strength to not succumb to McD's fries.

You go, Miss Riss! I'm so proud of you!

And if you succumb to McD's fries (a weakness of mine) it's OK. Just get right back on the Nutri-Wagon. Believe me, I've not followed things to the letter thus far -- although the longer I'm doing it, the easier it is to stick to it and to make smart choices when eating real food.

If that Stuck in the '80s cruise ever comes to pass, you and I will be the hottest chicas there ;-)
