Oooh! Is that Cheez Whiz? It's time for the Thursday Thirteen

Short is the joy that guilty pleasure brings.
~ Euripides

Hey Euripides -- bite me.

'Tain't nothing short about the joy that my TT Guilty Pleasures bring me. I revel in every single bit of tacky, glorious bliss these things hold.

PS: No fair judging me. I know y'all have similar lists bouncing around somewhere... yup.

1. The Monkees

2. Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream Pies

3. "The Steve Harvey Show"

4. Nutella

5. Wild berry wine coolers

6. The collected works of Jackie Collins

7. America’s Next Top Model

8. Anything featuring processed cheese/cheez/Velveeta

9. The Love Boat

10. Doris Day comedies of the late ‘50s/early ‘60s
(see: “Pillow Talk”; “The Thrill of it All”; “Lover Come Back”)

11. Chick-fi-A french fries dipped in a mayo/ketchup combo

12. Anthony Bourdain

13. The Olympics

Got guilty pleasures? Spill 'em. You'll feel better -- promise. Just let me go get a wine cooler to sip while I read your list...

BONUS! Another Monkees tune... shut. up.

Are you insane?

And you're like of Velveeta nears you very and oh-so-close to a jail term. No proof that your using it, but you're on thin ice, sister.

Heal thyself!

Doris Day is not a guilty pleasure, nor is Bourdain. Both have tremendous value and quality!
Now, like, say, CHEETOS, there is nothing to Cheetos except for orange fingerprints.

I once was at the desk of a coworker chatting about something. In mid-sentence, she told me she was hungry and proceeded to open her desk drawer, pull out a can of Velvetta and, hold onto your stomach, squeezed a giant mouthful of that neon-processed-cheese-food onto her waiting tongue.

"mmmmmmm....I LOVE Velveeta!" She said to me.

I puked.

Madison -- perhaps I should rephrase that what I would like to do with Bourdain might qualify as a guilty pleasure ;-)

Velveeta rules. That is all. It's klass-with-a-k kinda food. Mmmmm.

Ewwww...The Monkees. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them! That was the first concert I took my oldest son too. We live on the MS Gulf Coast and there are tons of casinos here so we get some pretty cool concerts around here. It was only Mickey and Davey but they still put on a heck of a show. I think that was about 7 years ago.

People will look at me strange as I drive with the car windows down singing along to The Monkees. Ah, what do those losers know!? Hey, hey I'm a Monkee!!!

Well, you already know how I feel about Nutella. I must say that I love the Monkees and Velveeta equally. I am looking forward to the Olympics. But shhh! Don't tell anyone about the wine coolers! I have an image to uphold.

I've probably mentioned this before, but Mike Nesmith was totally my boyfriend when I was 10, and I still can't pass up a Nez fronted Monkees song. Oddly enough, I got a Monkees bio at the library today and the girl at the desk commented on it to my son. On the way to the car, I asked him if he had any idea what she was talking about. My son said "no, I don't speak old person". How did I give birth to such a snarky little man?

I love this idea for a 13! And no, I don't have any guilty pleasures - *cough, choke, cough* - well not too many...

Guilty pleasures - are there any other kind?

Pass me one of your berry wine coolers while I read my chick-lite (not lit).

As a teenager, I was an addicted Monkees fan. MY husband teases me about it once in awhile.

My short list:
8. Orange foods, specifically Cheetos (I prefer the puffs) Crush, Spaghetti-Os with little hot dog slices and candy corn
7. Barry Manilow
6. Breakfast cereal
5. Waffle House
4. Big gaudy Firework displays. The bigger and boomier, the better.
3. Karaoke
2. Any Ronco-style, "has this ever happened to you?" commercial. I pray for the day that they launch a 24 hour cable channel of those.
1. Roller Derby. Both the classic and the post modern versions.

This list should provide a pretty accurate (frightening) picture of what a dream date with me would be like.

Mmmm. Waffle House. And breakfast cereal -- I'm still pissed that they "healthied" up AlphaBits and made them taste basically like bland Cheerios. Grrrr.

Karaoke -- the hambone in me loves, loves, loves it. Just don't get to participate very often, sadly.

I'm also picturing fireworks at Roller Derby. Wow.

OMG I love the Monkees. I had the hugest crush on Davey Jones. Pink puffy hearts and flowers loved him. Just seeing their picture made me burst out into Last Train to Clarksville

Happy TT!Hope you can stop by!
